What is Science Fiction?
Science fiction is one of the four genres we studied. This style of writing is typically set in the future. Science fiction usually includes technological advancements and major changes in society that are nonexistent to us. Examples of advancements could be:

Why "The Sound of Thunder" is Science Fiction
This story is set in the future, which is part of what makes it science fiction. The story also includes advanced technology. The entire plot is based off of time travel, which is only thought of in todays world. This technology affects the daily lives of the people in the community and make their lives differ from the people today.
